Nominations for the International Theatre Dance Awards 2020

Gemma Godber

Earlier in the year we got the exciting news that nine of our students were nominated for the International Theatre Dance Awards 2020 in Manchester. I'll be doing a little profile of each of the girls and first up is Gemma Godber.
Gemma has been a student of the school since 2007, studying mainly ballet but also tap, jazz and lyrical. She's successfully completed all her ballet exams up to Advanced 1 and was nominated after taking her Advanced 1 exam. She's also part of our competition team and regularly competes in both ballet and lyrical. She is an incredibly dedicated and hardworking student and not only a great asset to the school but a wonderful role model for our students.

Tara Casey

Our next nominee for the International Theatre Dance Awards 2020 is Tara Casey, 14.
Tara has been a student of the school since September 2008, studying mainly ballet but also tap, jazz and lyrical. She's received a Distinction in all her grade and vocational ballet exams, as well as in medal tests in tap and jazz. She was nominated after doing her Intermediate exam this spring. All our nominees received exceptional marks in the 90s.
Tara has always been incredibly hard working and showed great focus and maturity in her dancing, even from a very young age. She's regularly competes with our competition team in both ballet and lyrical and is well known for her musicality and artistry.

Aine Moynihan

Our next nominee for the International Theatre Dance Awards 2020 is Áine Moynihan, 13.
Áine joined the school in 2009, following in the footsteps of her older sisters, Cathy and Lorna. She has successfully completed all her grade exams in ballet up to grade 5, as well as also taking medal tests in tap and jazz and classes in lyrical. She was nominated after receiving an exceptionally high mark in her grade 5 ballet exam in February. Áine is a very hard worker and is focused and consistent in class as well as being a dedicated and valuable member of our competition team.

Aisling Hammond

Our next nominee for the International Theatre Dance Awards 2020 is Aisling Hammond, 12.
Aisling joined the school in 2011 and studies mainly ballet but in recent years has added lyrical and jazz. She has received distinction in all her grade exams up to grade 5 and was nominated this spring after taking her grade 5 ballet exam. Like the other nominees she received an excellent result, with marks in the 90s. This is Aisling's second nomination as she was also a finalist at last year's awards in Manchester. Aisling is a very dedicated student and works very hard on her technique and conditioning, both at home and in the studio. She's also a valuable member of our competition team, competing in both ballet and lyrical.

Ciara Luka Ennis

Our next nominee for the International Theatre Dance Awards 2020 is Ciara Luka Ennis, 11.
Ciara Luka joined the school in 2012, studying mainly ballet but then adding tap, jazz and lyrical. She has received Distinction in all her exams to date and was nominated after receiving an exceptionally high mark for her grade 4 ballet exam this Spring. Ciara Luka is a very dedicated student and is hard working and focused in class. She's also a valuable member of our competition team, having successfully competed over the years in ballet, tap and lyrical.

Judith Egan

Our next nominee for the International Theatre Dance Awards 2020 is Judith Egan, 12.
Judith joined the school in 2011, following in the footsteps of her mum and sisters. She's received a high Distinction mark in all her ballet exams to date and was nominated after receiving excellent results in her grade 4 exam this spring. Judith is a very dedicated and hardworking student and a valuable member of our competition team, who loves performing onstage and choreographing her own lyrical solos.

Hannah Costelloe

Our next nominee for the International Theatre Dance Awards 2020 is Hannah Costelloe, 12.
Hannah has been a student of the school for most of the last six years, studying mainly ballet but also lyrical and jazz. She was nominated after receiving an exceptionally high mark in her grade 4 exam this Spring. Hannah is focused and enthusiastic and works very hard on her technique and body conditioning, both in the studio and at home. She's also a valuable member of our competition team and has successfully competed over the years in both ballet and lyrical.

Scarlett Williams

Our next nominee for the International Theatre Dance Awards 2020 is Scarlett Williams, 11.
Scarlett joined the school in 2012, following in the footsteps of her mum, who was one of the first students when the school opened in 1987. She's received a high distinction mark in all her ballet exams to date and was nominated after receiving an excellent result for her grade 4 exam this Spring. Scarlett is a very dedicated student and works hard on her technique and artistry, both at home and in the studio. She's also a valuable member of our competition team, having successfully competed in ballet and lyrical from a young age.

Emily Connolly

Our ninth nominee for the International Theatre Dance Awards 2020 is Emily Connolly, 10.
Emily joined the school in 2013, studying mostly ballet but later adding lyrical and jazz. She’s received a Distinction in all her exams to date and was nominated after receiving an excellent result in her grade 4 exam in March. Emily is an extremely hard worker and is very focused and determined in class. She also has a very mature understanding of the technical requirements of her dancing and is a valuable member of our competition team, having successfully competed in both ballet and lyrical.
